Lutheran Campus Ministry at Creighton
Lutheran Campus Ministry at Creighton University is a ministry of Nebraska Lutheran Campus Ministry at the invitation of the Office of Campus Ministry at Creighton sponsored by the congregation of Kountze Memorial. We are a “Lutheran service on campus” working in collaborative manner with our host and other ecumenical partners (including Episcopalian, United Methodist, United Church of Christ, and Presbyterian) designated by their synod/diocese/district.
The Chaplain and Coordinator for our Campus Ministry programs is Dr. H. Ashley Hall, Associate Professor in the Theology Department and part-time Associate Pastor at Kountze Memorial. Contact Dr. Hall at 402-341-7761 or click HERE to e-mail him.
If you see a Creighton student visiting with us, please be sure to introduce yourself to them, make them feel welcome and perhaps introduce them to Dr. Hall or one of the pastors. Likewise, if you know of a student at Creighton who would like to be involved, please contact us. Serving these young adults at this very important time in their lives is key to our commitment to life-long learning and service as well as essential to our mission as disciples of Christ.
Lutheran Campus Ministry is on Facebook. Search for “Lutheran Campus Ministry at Creighton University.”
We offer a weekly contemplative liturgy with Holy Communion every Sunday evening at 9 p.m. in the Halley Chapel (lower St. John’s). We also host/coordinate ecumenical opportunities on campus, such as the Protestant Worship service for Welcome Week, an Ecumenical Ash Wednesday service, co-host the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, as well as regular (monthly) Taizé worship opportunities.
St. John’s is located near 24th and Cass St., just west of Creighton Hall (Administration Building). It’s building #28 on the campus map. Access to the chapel is via the east or the west side doors (not through the main entrance to the church).
