The Secret Garden      The B.O.O.B. Girls

The Secret Garden
by Frances Burnett
&
The B.O.O.B. Girls
by Joy Johnson

The Book Group will again read two selections and discuss them Sunday, Sept. 12 at noon in the Fellowship Lounge. The first selection is the classic novel, The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. This complex novel has us following a young, orphaned Mary Lennox as she discovers a neglected, walled garden at her uncle’s enormous, drafty mansion.

The other selection is written by Omaha’s Joy Johnson, one of the co-founders of the Centering Corporation. Since its founding, the Centering Corporation has become a well-respected grief resource center in Omaha. The B.O.O.B Girls—The Burned Out Old Broads at Table 12 is a laugh-out-loud fun read and a look into relationships. This novel proves that there can be life after grief.
