Sunday School
 
Ages 2-Preschool: Sundays, 8:55 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.
Kindergarten-Grade 8: Sundays, 10:05 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.

Kountze Memorial uses the workshop Rotation Model for children in Kindgergarten through the 6th grade. The 7th and 8th graders follow a variety of curriculums designed especially for the junior high age. All classes are held on the second floor of the education unit, above Fellowship Hall.

Nursery
Nursery care is available for children from birth to age 2. The nursery is located off the Fellowship Hall. Nursery hours are 8:55 a.m. to noon every Sunday. The nursery provides a safe, caring and Christ-centered environment. All nursery staff are CPR certified. Nursery care is also available during Advent and Lenten services, bible studies and various other events.
Worship Bags
Worship Bags are available for young children to use during the worship services. The bags are full of quiet church activities. Pick one up in the Narthex of the church.
Children's Bulletins
Kountze offers two age-appropriate Bulletins for ages 4-6 and ages 6-10 available for use during the worship services. Please ask the ushers for one.
Baptism and First Communion Seminars
These classes, taught by the pastors, prepare parents and their children for these two Sacraments. Watch the Good News and Bulletin for the dates when the Baptism seminars are offered. The First Communion classes are offered for any child who has expressed the desire to receive the Sacrament. These classes for both parent and child are usually offered in the spring and fall.
Wednesday Night Live (Confirmation)
Students in grades 8 and 9 participate in the Catechism/Confirmation program on Wednesday nights. The program includes an evening meal followed by classes taught by the pastors and closes with Evening Vespers. Several service projects and special events are scheduled throughout the year. After completion of the program, the ninth graders may participate in the Rite of Confirmation.
