Church Parking Lot Open on the Weekend!

Beginning this weekend, we will be able to park in our new parking lot! It will be closed again during the week for the next few weeks but will be available for us during Worship. Just a reminder that the west door isn’t operational at this time so you will still have to enter from the south doors (Farnam side).

Pastor Olaf Roynesdal Accepts Senior Pastor Call

The Church Council has received word that the Rev. Olaf Roynesdal of East Side Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, SD accepts the call of Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church to be the senior pastor, beginning September 1, 2017.

Pastor and Marcia Roynesdal are now making preparations for their move to Omaha. We give thanks to God for this wonderful news!

The final Sunday of Pastor Dean Bard, our interim senior pastor, will be August 20, 2017.  The following Sunday, August 27, will be the fall congregational meeting to elect leaders for the Church Council, the Endowment Fund Board and the deFreese Manor Board.  Preparations for that meeting will be made before Pastor Bard departs KMLC, by agreement with Pastor Roynesdal, and held as scheduled.

Kountze Commons

The dedication of the new building will be held Sunday, October 8 in partnership with Methodist Community Health Clinic and Lutheran Family Services, our two major community partners, and tenants of the building.  Mark your calendars for this exciting event!

Spirituality and Well-Being in the Second Half of Life

Featured speaker Dr. G. Scott Morris | Thursday, July 27, 8 AM to 2:30 PM | Augustana University Elmen Center | Tickets: $35

Our lives and faith look different in the second chapter of life. There are new opportunities, and many experiences behind us, too. You may find yourself asking:

  • What is God’s purpose for me in this stage of life?
  • What does faithfulness look like now?
  • How do I trust Him and have courage as seasons change?
  • How can my faith remain vibrant and strong?
  • How can I help others who find themselves in this stage of life?

Whether you are an older adult, you work or care for an older adult, or you are simply interested in the topic, we invite you to take part in this day of reflection and discussion featuring Dr. G. Scott Morris, CEO of Church Health. We invite guests of all faiths.
