CHURCH COMMITTEES

Christian Education Committee

The Christian Education Committee provides Christ-centered nurturing for all generations. Activities include Sunday School, Confirmation classes, the annual Advent Gathering, Adult Bible Study, the Nursery, and much more.

Congregational Activities Committee

The Congregational Activities Committee provides gatherings for fellowship and fun in the name of Christ. Activities include the Neighborhood Gathering in June, an Old-Fashioned Church Picnic in August, Adult Day Trip’s, Men’s Luncheon, Cooperative Thanksgiving Dinner with St. Peter Catholic Church, and many more!

Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee exists to promote the growth of Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church by warmly welcoming guests, neighbors, friends, and new members to our faith community. Projects include hosting New Member classes, newspaper advertising, sponsoring the Welcome Center, and planning the annual the Neighborhood Gathering and the Congregational Picnic.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee works closely with the pastors and the Church Council on the church’s Annual Budget.

Global Mission Committee

The Global Mission Committee oversees our worship, growth and service in the world. Click HERE for more information on our global outreach activities.

Health Ministry Committee

The Health Ministry Committee promotes the holistic health of the congregation by sponsoring programs related to improving our body, mind, and spirit.

Media Ministry Committee

The Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church media ministry has been operating out of our church TV studio for more than 25 years and oversees our Sunday morning worship broadcasts. Our 9:00 a.m. Sunday service is televised live each week on Cox Cable Channel 13 or lived streamed on our church website, which can be accessed from any computer or mobile device.

Property Committee

The Property Committee oversees the upkeep of the church building to ensure that future generations will be able to continue to worship, grow, and serve faithfully at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church.

Social Ministry

In addition to helping with the Kountze Food Pantry, the Neighborhood Gathering and the Old-Fashioned Church Picnic, the Social Ministry committee participates in a number of local outreach activities, including supporting the Stephen Center, a homeless shelter in downtown Omaha, cooking lunch for Habitat for Humanity volunteers, coordinating special Christmas collections in December and more.

Stewardship Committee

Stewardship is a way of life at Kountze Memorial and provides for our ongoing worship, faith formation and community outreach ministries, as well as support of state and national church bodies. The goal of the committee is to encourage the stewardship ministry of the congregation to accomplish God’s mission through the church and our daily lives.

Technology Committee

The Technology Committee oversees the audio visual, computer, and technology systems of Kountze, including computer maintenance and oversight of the Kountze website.

Worship and Music Committee

The Worship and Music Committee schedules and plans the weekly worship services. Through the assistance and participation of the Altar Guild, Order of Saint John, ushers, greeters, lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, and our extensive music ministries, the committee strives to provide spiritual and meaningful weekly and special services throughout the year.

Youth Ministries Committee

Guided by our mission to worship, grow, and serve, the Youth Ministries Committee oversees youth ministry at Kountze Memorial. The committee works with church staff to maintain an exceptional youth program. Click HERE to learn more about our Youth Ministries program.

Archives Committee

The Archives Committee collects, maintains, and preserves the rich history of our church for current and future generations. Projects include overseeing the archives of KMLC, digitizing important documents, writing historical articles for the Good News, and making archive material accessible to members and the community, among many other projects.
